Donors Choose

Donors Choose is a wonderful organization that helps teachers find funding for small class projects or needs. We currently have a project we are looking to be funded. We are wanting audio tapes of our Star Books to help with our vocabulary instruction. We are also requesting story props to help the students retell the stories. The great thing about Donors Choose is that anyone can contribute toward a project. It doesn't have to be one family, but a group. It is also tax deductible. Another great serice to the teachers is they do all the shopping and shipping. After a project is funded, they ship the items we filled out on a wish list. If anyone is interested in helping us, please see the link on the side of our blog for further information.

When you click on the link, you may have to log in as a new user but that shouldn't stop you from looking at our project. We have had another parent sucessfully log in and donate so I think it should work. If you are still having trouble, please let us know. Thanks!

Good luck on your project. We just got one funded and it is the greatest feeling when you get to tell the kids...it's like Christmas morning:). I'm looking forward to getting the books I got funded in the mail. I'll be checking up on your project to see how you are doing:)

Gosh, I guess try going straight to donorschoose.org When you are on the main page you will be able to go to the site for donors. The name of our project is Monkeys, Dirty Dogs and Bears Oh My. You should be able to find it that way. Let me know if you can't.

Michelle,
I just clicked on your link you put on the side bar and it does ask for a Duval County Webmail password and username. I didn't realize this because my username and password are saved on my computer and it just logs me on. Your link is having to go through there. Maybe post a direct link? Melanie could probably help:)

The link goes to the Duval Schools webmail page, asking for a username and password. Here is the text of the link:

http://webmail.duvalschools.org/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=http://www.donorschoose.org/donors/proposal.html?id=210176

I think what you may want is just the trailing portion of that link. I was able to get it this one to work:

http://www.donorschoose.org/donors/proposal.html?id=210176

On a related note, I was excited to see that DonorsChoose gets outstanding ratings from Charity Navigator:

Okay, I think I have it fixed (Thanks to the Warden family) If someone tries the link from a non-school computer let me know if it works. I am keeping my fingers crossed! :)
